TUNKHANNOCK — The Imaging Services Department at Tyler Memorial Hospital presented a $310 donation to the Wyoming County Cancer Society on Feb. 17.

Each year the hospital holds a fundraiser from the last week of September through the last week of October. Employees purchase items that promote Breast Cancer Awareness, and in turn get to dress down day each Friday in the month of October. This year the items sold included, bracelets and ribbons. The dietary staff baked Breast Cancer Awareness sugar cookies and contributed the proceeds to the fundraiser.

The funds will help with education and research and goes directly to the patients who utilize the Wyoming County Cancer Society. Patients receive help with expenses such as medication and transportation. The majority of funding comes from the United Way, Memorial funds and donations.

For information on donation and volunteer opportunities with the society, call Executive Director Betty Ubachs at 570-836-6552.
