Lackawanna College to offer FAFSA workshop for college-bound students

SCRANTON — Lackawanna College’s Office of Financial Aid will host a free community workshop designed to help students and parents complete the 2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 in Room 208 of Angeli Hall, 501 Vine St., Scranton.

FAFSA is a form that must be completed each year by current and prospective college students in order to determine their eligibility for federal student financial aid. In Pennsylvania, students who complete their FAFSA prior to May 1 may also be eligible for state grant money.

Those attending must bring the following items with them in order to complete the FAFSA:

· 2015 federal tax returns for students and parents

· W-2 wage and tax statements

· 1099-MISC, miscellaneous income form

· Any additional statements used to complete your 2015 federal tax returns
