SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — Lori Huckaby-Noll was named the ninth head women’s basketball coach at Summit University of Pennsylvania.
Huckaby-Noll earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Summit University in 1987 and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Lynchburg College in 1999.
While an undergraduate student, she was a member of the women’s basketball team under Coach Nancy Durrwachter and collected a number of accolades, including National Christian Conference Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American and member of the NCCAA national tournament team.
Huckaby-Noll taught health and physical education and coached basketball in a number of Christian high schools. She was named Cedarville University’s assistant women’s basketball coach in 2005. There, she was responsible for recruiting, promoting summer camps, game film breakdown and scouting. She later became assistant professor in Cedarville’s School of Business, lead professor in the Sports Management program and advisor for the class of 2015.
Taking over for interim head coach Sherrie Holloway, Huckaby-Noll will immediately focus on recruiting. The Lady Defenders graduated seven players last season and look to fill a number of spots on the roster.
The daughter of former Summit University coach and athletic director Jim Huckaby, Huckaby-Noll will also serve as the first senior women’s administrator in the history of Summit University athletics. She will oversee all of the female sports and ensure that the school operates in compliance with all of the necessary Title IX guidelines.
