SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — The current faculty and staff of the Abington Heights High School is seeking former teachers of the school to participate in a re-dedication of the building during its 50th anniversary celebration weekend on Friday afternoon, May 27.

Former faculty members will report at the grounds at 2 p.m. that afternoon, and RSVPs are requested by Wednesday, May 25 by contacting Assistant Principal Lee Ann Theony at 570-585-5332 or theonyla@ahsd.org.

Fifty years ago, construction began for Abington Heights Senior High School at 222 Noble Road and the building has since served the community in providing a place of learning, gathering, sporting events and celebration. The school is commemorating more than 50 years of growth and honoring students, faculty, parents and community members with a community wide event on Friday and Saturday, May 27 and 28, 2016 at the high school.

The anniversary celebration weekend will include speakers, tours and activities in which students and alumni will share their memories and memorabilia.

Those with items such as photos, yearbooks, diplomas and apparel to contribute to the memorabilia museum should also contact Theony. Items will be featured in the exhibit and returned to the owners.
