SCRANTON — Two Abington area residents were among The University of Scranton students inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national honor society for communication majors. The national honor society was founded in 1985 to encourage high levels of scholarship and leadership in the field of communications. The university’s chapter was established in 1999.

The following local students were inducted:

• Emma Black, of South Abington Township, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences

• Ryan Rigau, of Clarks Summit, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences
