DALTON — The Dalton Fishing Derby was held Sunday, May 15 at Dalton Streamside Park.

Joe McGrath Sr. has been running the event for 13 years along with members of the fishing derby board including Tom Davis, president; Amber Sheridan, treasurer; Mary Ellen Shook, secretary; and Bill Montgomery, board member.

About 120 people including children and parents arrived to fish on the stream. Trophies and prizes such as fishing poles were awarded.

Sponsors included McGrath’s Pub, Bolock Law Firm, Dalton Borough, Dalton Lions Club, and Dalton Country Store.

This event was free and open to the community.
