CLARKS GREEN — The Clarks Green Assembly of God, 204 S. Abington Road, will host violinist Jaime Jorge at its 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services Sunday, June 12. All are invited to attend and there is no cost.

Born in Communist Cuba, Jorge will share his life story in words and his life gifts with his violin.

He began playing the instrument at the age of 5 and had many opportunities, including offers to study in Moscow with great musicians – if only he and his family would renounce their belief in God.

They refused.

When he was 10, his family was given the opportunity to leave the country.

They came to the United States, where Jorge received a Christian education and violin lessons with eminent violinist and teacher Cyrus Forough. But Jorge dreamed of being a missionary doctor, and in 1994 he entered the University of Illinois School of Medicine. In 1996, he left medical school and a promising medical career to devote himself to full-time music ministry.

Since 1988, he has traveled more than six million air miles and has played in North, Central and South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa (six Continents in all and over 50 countries). He has recorded and released 17 albums.
