RANSOM TWP. — The board of supervisors voted at its regular meeting, held Monday, June 6 at the Mount Dewey Community Center, to award a roadwork bid for sealing on North Sekol Avenue and Rock Drive. Three bids were received and the job went to Suit Kote, the low bidder, at $55,510.75.

Supervisor David Bird said roadwork on Ransom Road, from Milwaukee to Rock Drive, will be conducted in mid-August by PennDOT as part of the department’s agility agreement with the township.

In other business, following a recommendation from the township planning commission to approve a sewage facility application for the Bartholme property, the board voted to do so.

Supervisor Jerry Brown gave an MS4 update, stating the township is almost ready to file its 2015-2016 report, which should be done by June 30. He added the earliest the township might be exempt from this requirement is October 2017.

Chairman Dennis Macheska gave the treasury and recycling reports, stating the general fund is at $467,563.56 and liquid fuels $1,487,265.52. May’s recycling totaled 4.3 tons and this month’s recycling date is June 24.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, July 11 at the municipal building on Hickory Lane.
