SCRANTON — The board of directors of Susan G. Komen Northeastern Pennsylvania announced Nicole Roche Pettinato and Jill Eidenberg will serve as chair and co-chair of the 26th Annual Komen NEPA Affiliate Race for the Cure on Saturday, Sept. 17.
Pettinato became a volunteer with the Komen NEPA affiliate in 2013. She has served as the race committee chairwoman of race teams and race registration since 2014. Pettinato is an advocate for breast cancer awareness and attends numerous health fairs and local community events as a Komen representative. Her goal is to spread awareness of this disease and to help end breast cancer forever.
Pettinato resides in Old Forge and is currently employed by the County of Lackawanna Transit System.
Eidenberg became involved with the Komen NEPA affiliate in 2012, serving on the public relations committee for the annual race. She also created and produced several issues of the affiliate’s online newsletter, E-Pink Quarterly. Her awareness for this cause started more than 10 years ago, when her friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29.
Eidenberg is the office manager and marketing coordinator at Equipment Technology Inc. in Peckville and resides in Scranton with her two children.
