Paper towel dispenser empty at the hand-wash sink in the restroom area. Paper towels were placed at the sink during this inspection. Change of ownership, facility has 90 days to meet the requirement for a certified food employee.

Trinity Banquet Hall, 37 Prospect St., Carbondale, July 6. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. New food facility in operation more than 90 days and has not employed a certified food employee as required.

Michael Steiner Post, 508 Church St., Jessup, July 7. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Non-food contact surfaces, ice machine and glass dishwasher not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.

Lucca Scoops and Sweets, 804 S. Main St., Taylor, July 8. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Food dispensing utensils in sprinkles observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food and the container. The utensils were removed during this inspection.

Oligan’s Pub and Grill, 23 Southside Ln, Scott Township, July 8. Opening inspection; in compliance.

Y Knot Pub and Eatery, 104 Old State Rd., Moscow, July 8. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Hamburgers are served to the customer’s request; however, a written consumer advisory (on the menu, table tent, or placard) is not provided to the consumer. Advisory signs were posted in the dining areas. As per the owner, the advisory statement will be placed on the menus.

Brody’s Snack Shack, 120 Livingston Ln., Clifton Twp, July 8. Change of Owner inspection; in compliance. Violations: Observed wiping cloths in extremely unclean condition on the shelf above the equipment sink and on the floor under the sink. The cloths were removed by the owner. Hamburgers 63* degrees F and 66 degrees F; hot dogs 63 degrees F; tomatoes and cheese 63 degrees F in the bain marie. Ambient temperature is 70 degrees Ff, unit thermometer reads 72 degrees F. The unit has been out of temperature for an unknown amount of time. Marinara sauce 101 degrees F, left overnight on the rack behind the bain marie. Shall maintain cold food at 41 degrees F or below. The owner denatured with bleach and disposed of approximately 30 lbs./$50.00. Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available in the chest freezer. The bain marie is not maintaining cold food at 41 degrees F or below. Maintenance cleaned the condenser and coils, temperature is dropping, rechecked 46 degrees F . Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available. Food facility does not have available QAC sanitizer test strips to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration Old food residue on utensils on the rack behind the bain marie. The utensils were placed at the sink for cleaning.

New Century Chinese Restaurant, 1000 S. State St., Clarks Summit, July 12. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations; Food in the freezer areas stored open with no covering. All foods were covered during this inspection. Hood filter frame over cooking equipment has an accumulation of grease. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate chlorine sanitizer concentration. Food facility does not have available temperature monitoring strips or a high temperature waterproof thermometer to monitor final rinse cycle of ware-wash machine. One of three chest freezer lids in the rear storeroom is being held together with an unapproved material, duct tape. Lid is not fitting tightly on freezer. Non-food contact surfaces (the side of the bain marie) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of old food residue. The area was cleaned during this inspection. Non-food contact surfaces,fan guards in walk-in cooler, not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. Floor tiles are missing and/or cracked throughout the kitchen especially underneath the cooking equipment and ware-wash sinks, not allowing for smooth and easy to clean surface. The floor underneath the fryers has an accumulation of grease. Observed webbing with spiders in the cabinets under hot and cold holding equipment in dining room and webbing behind soda fountain machine, underneath ware-wash sinks, corner of cooking equipment, shelves and corners of dry storage area and behind the upright freezer. The webbing was removed during this inspection.
