The 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and the struggle aboard Flight 93 will be marked Sunday, Sept. 11 at the 9/11 memorial in McDade Park, Bald Mountain Road, Scranton. The commemoration will begin at 9 a.m. with an ecumenical invocation. Ashley DeFlice will sing the National Anthem. Judah Whitney, LTC USA (ret.) will be the main speaker. Kendra Lynn, military liaison will read the names of the civilian and military deceased of Lackawanna County. The Northeast Detachment Marine Corps League will provide the firing salute. The firemen’s bell ceremony is scheduled to be held.
