The play is set in Queens on the famous day Pope Paul VI visits New York City in 1965. A zookeeper dreams of penning ditties in Hollywood with his girlfriend at his side, but he must first deal with his schizophrenic shut-in wife and his quietly explosive GI son, who went AWOL while headed for Vietnam.
Oh, and there are three crazy nuns and a movie star.
This farcical, dark comedy won many awards, including several Tonys for its 1986 revival.
Cast members include: Mike Lally, April Holgate, Marcy Cieciorka, George Conrad, Mark Fryer, Grace Harvey, Cathy Rist Strauch, Melanie Speakman, Marnie Azzarelli, Dominick Azzarelli and Bernie Ott.
