NEW MILFORD — Kyle Smith, of Starrucca was selected as the Harford Fair’s Traffic Employee of the Year for 2016 . Chuck Latwinski initiated the award last year to recognize a traffic worker who went above and beyond his or her duties throughout fair week.

Following his recognition, Smith gave credit to his crew chief, Scott Knifer, who he said was his inspiration.

While many of the workers are ones who have worked at the fair for many years, Smith is a new employee this year. It is also his first time to attend the Harford Fair. He worked every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
