October is here and we’ve had so many patrons asking about our Fall Book and Bake Sale. So, let’s get right down to business with this month’s important information. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Dalton Community Library.
With all the book donations made, our basement is packed with lots to offer everyone. If you happen to be a fan of Stephen King, we’ve had donations of a lot of King’s books. There’s also been many children’s books and grade-appropriate workbooks brought in over the past weeks. Gardening books, cook books and history books are all available. We have DVDs, CDs and magazines, too.
Prices will be from 25¢ to $1, and yes, you read that right. There are many items that are like brand new and the prices are more than reasonable.
We have so many patrons that can’t wait for our book sales. Everything is sorted and classified for easy browsing. Also, there’s always someone available to help with questions if there are any.
A big, yummy bonus to our wide selection of items and great prices is the delicious table of treats that are for sale during the book sale times. Everything is homemade and donated from our generous patrons. At past sales, we’ve had cookies, breads, brownies and other treats available.
All proceeds from the sales will benefit the library and our programs, and because of this, we’d like to thank everyone who’s donated books. It’s truly appreciated. We accept donations throughout the year, but take a break a few weeks before each sale in order to organize.
I’d quickly like to mention how well our programs have been going.
We’ve seen some new faces, which is always a pleasure. We’ve also had many of our regular patrons that continue coming in for their favorite groups. We appreciate all the support everyone gives to our programs. For a small town library, we have such wonderful families who come in to utilize the library. It’s nice to see everyone take advantage of our programs and all that this comfy, hometown library has to offer.
Hope to see everyone on Oct. 15 for our Book and Bake Sale. Come one, come all!
