SCRANTON —The AFA (Artists For Art) Gallery, 514 Lackawanna Ave., will host the following events during the month of October.

Keith Garubba’s Dr. Armbruster Laboratories

AFA’s First Floor Gallery will host Keith Garubba’s “Dr. Armbruster Laboratories” from Oct. 6 through 28.

Asking questions such as “What happens when we over-aestheticize our scientific pursuits?” or “What happens when we over-analyze our artistic creations?” and using multiple media, such as paintings, prints and glassworks and the fiction of Dr. Armbruster, Garubba and the viewer use scientific research to better understand “Drips” and the relationship between art and science.

Garubba is a multidisciplinary artist and educator living and working in Bethlehem. An opening reception will be held during First Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7.

NEPA Rainbow Alliance at AFA Gallery

The NEPA Rainbow Alliance will hold a group exhibition in AFA’s Second Floor Gallery from Oct. 6 through 28. The exhibition will feature multiple media from over 20 different artists. The NEPA Rainbow Alliance provides education, support, and advocacy for LGBTQIA people and families, while working to advance fairness and equality.

An opening reception will be held during First Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7.
