SCRANTON — Members of the Laurel Garden Club planted a flowering crab tree and held a dedication ceremony at the Catlin House, headquarters of the Lackawanna Historical Society, Saturday, Sept. 17 in honor of Donna Adler.

Adler, who passed away in November 2015, was a longtime member of both the Laurel Garden Club and Lackawanna Historical Society. She was honored as the 2011 Volunteer of the Year for the Society and was instrumental in cataloging the LHS library for inclusion on the Lackawanna County Library System’s online catalog.

She also served as a tour guide and participant in many LHS programs and took on a special project to document the history of East Mountain.
