Hello April! Have we got plans for this month.
It’s time for our Spring Book and Bake Sale at the Dalton Community Library. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, and there is so much for sale. We’ve got children’s books, history books, craft books, religious books, mysteries and more. There’s a large variety of all kinds of books, magazines, CDs and many other miscellaneous items.
Everything is organized for easy selection and the shelves and tables are full. Prices are very reasonable with most items between 25¢ and $1. We appreciate all the donations of items for the sale. We will hold off on taking donations during the month of April, but will continue accepting them from May until the month of our fall sale. So, come one, come all to one of our community’s favorite sales.
After shopping, feast your eyes on the table of homemade goods that’s always easy to smell, but not easy to walk past without getting hungry. Look for breads, brownies, cookies and other homemade specialties, which are generously made and donated by area patrons and businesses. Prices for the baked goods are deliciously worth every penny.
Proceeds from this sale help provide necessities needed for our library’s programs and helps keep our library shelves full. Mark your calendars for the Saturday after Easter, April 22, and stop in.
Here are some details for April programs:
• Our children’s Story Time will continue at 11 a.m. every Tuesday. We always make room for new children, so stop in if you have a young child who enjoys hearing stories, doing a craft or reviewing the alphabet, numbers and colors.
• The Kid’s Crew program will continue at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays after school. This group also invites new elementary-aged children to come see what’s being worked on and join the fun.
• Mahjong is held at 10 a.m. Monday and Thursdays.
• Bridge is played at 10 a.m Tuesdays.
There are other groups scheduled that can be checked on our website, lclshome.org/Dalton.
