1977 — In baseball news, the Abington Little League Farm Division, Third National Bank defeated Gallo Roofin two straight games in a best-of-three playoff series. This marked the third consecutive season championship for the Bankers.

1987 — The Chinchilla Hose Company brought in the Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers Circus for a show at the carnival grounds on Routes 6 and 11 in Chinchilla. The annual two-day event served as a fundraiser for the fire company.
