The Lackawanna County Commissioners recently honored the Gaynord Family with a Good Works presentation. Tim and Tom Gaynord were diagnosed with Werdnig Hoffman’s disease when they were months old and then were eventually bound to wheelchairs. Tommy died in 2007 and the family established a fund in his name to help others. The Gaynords have donated more than $68,000 to local and national charities, sponsored eight Make-A-Wish children’s requests and participated in numerous walks and other non-profit activities. From left, first row, are Tim Gaynord, Keith Williams, Marcy McNamara and Bobby Walsh, from the Lackawanna County Disability Committee. Second row, Commissioner Patrick M. O’Malley, Tom and Lisa Gaynord, family members Ann Yanni and Pat Yanni and Commissioner Jerry Notarianni.
