TUNKHANNOCK — Singer-songwriter James Barrett is the next headliner for Open Mic Night, slated for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 in the Dietrich Theater’s Peg Fassett Performance Studio. This will be the Clarks Summit musician’s first time at the Dietrich’s monthly event.

Since the start of his career, Barrett has already released five albums. His preferred genre is acoustic and alternative rock. Many of his songs and albums were completed with the help of producer Angelo Maruzzelli, Dietrich Theater Open Mic night emcee. His most recent album, “Twenty,” has been a big part of his life for more than a year, and Barrett is thrilled to share some of his original work with a new audience.

The Dietrich Theater’s Open Mic Nights feature local artists, storytellers, comedians, poets and musicians looking for a way to share their talents with a supportive audience. Sign-ups are held at 6:30 p.m. the night of the event.

The final Open Mic Night of the year will feature Vocal Accord, a barbershop quartet, on Friday Oct. 27.
