MAYFIELD — Rev. Mitred Archpriest John D. Sorochka, superintendent and spiritual director of St. John’s Academy, along with Deacon Michael Pavuk, principal of the religious education program, announced the Moleben (Service of Thanksgiving) for the opening of the new academic year will take place Sunday, Oct. 1 following the Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in the church at 700 Hill Street.
Registration will be held for pre-school to high school (ages 3 to 17) classes in the upper level of the church center, 701 Hill Street, following the service.
Classes will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2.
