SCRANTON — Clarks Summit resident Bryon C. Applequist, Ph.D., is one of 15 newly appointed full-time faculty members for the 2017-18 academic year at The University of Scranton.

The Henderson, Nevada native was named assistant professor of exercise science and sport.

Applequist earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, both in kinesiology, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is completing a doctorate in exercise science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was a graduate assistant at both universities and has published papers in a number of scholarly journals.
