CLARKS SUMMIT — State Senator John Blake, of the 22nd district, paid a visit to the borough Friday morning, Oct. 13, to host a Coffee and Conversation event, open to his constituents and local business leaders. A crowd of a few dozen people gathered to ask questions and hear what the senator had to say.

Blake started by highlighting several current senate issues, such as the budget, gaming funds, municipal pension reform and more. The event ended with a question and answer session, in which attendees brought up a wide variety of topics, from manhole covers on the streets, to children’s healthcare, to issues in education.

The event was intended as the first in a series throughout the district. According to Jeff Cavanaugh, communications director, details for future sessions will be announced in the coming weeks.
