Christmas with the Choral Society, 4 p.m. Nov. 26 in the sanctuary of Scranton’s historic Covenant Presbyterian Church, corner of Madison and Olive Streets. Audience caroling will alternate with performances of holiday music by each of the Choral Society of Northeast Pennsylvania’s five children’s and youth choirs, their adult Symphonic Chorus, soloists and organist Timothy Smith. The afternoon will conclude with a festive holiday cookie reception. Cost: $15 for adults and $5 for those ages 18 and under; a $2 discount will be given for adult students, seniors and WVIA members. Tuba Christmas, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Viewmont Mall in Scranton. Presented by Marywood University’s music, theatre, and dance department, the concert is directed and conducted by Michael Parker. Tuba and euphonium players of all ages and abilities are welcome to perform. Registration for the performance will take place at 3 p.m., with a rehearsal at 4 p.m., at the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts, on the university’s campus. Home (made) for the Holidays, 12:30 to 4 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Lackawanna State Park. Stop by the Environmental Learning Center to create a homemade holiday craft using natural materials. A variety of items like pine cones, acorns and teasel will be available to let “natural” creativity come through. Bring a small box to carry home your creation. Examples will be on display for inspiration.
