Sports calendar for week of Sept. 2, 2015

The Northern Side by Side Challenge and Expo, 9 a.m. Sept. 3-6 at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays, Springville. Events will range from .410 through 10 bore with hammer and hammerless guns. Also, a black powder cartridge event. Displays from vintage gun collectors and associations. Vendors and food from Ma Greenleys BBQ.

Strength training classes offered by Penn State Extension, 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 8 at Abington Senior Center, 1151 Winola Road, S. Abington Twp. Fall Fly Fishing Course, 10 a.m. to noon, every Saturday, Sept. 12 to Oct. 10 at at the Keystone College Woodlands Campus. PROSPER 5K Run/Fun Walk, 9 a.m. Sept. 26 at the Olive Street Trailhead of the Lackawanna Heritage Trail, Scranton. Proceeds will be used for PROSPER evidence-based drug and alcohol prevention programs in the Carbondale Area and Riverside School Districts. Registration/info: or 570-963-6842.

Keystone College baseball Third Annual ‘Ball Fore’ Golf Outing, Oct. 18 at Stonehedge Country Club, 287 German Hill Road, Factoryville. The four-person scramble format will include a golf, food at the turn, prizes and a steak dinner. Cost: $400 per team with funds benefiting the Keystone College baseball team.
