Classics win invitational
The Scranton Prep girls team placed first in the Cliff Robbins Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Dallas. Classics senior Erin Feeney finished in first place. Kate Reilly finished eighth, Anna Brier placed 13th, Adiya Golden finished 22nd, Mia Bellucci came in 24th place, Katie Walsh finished 36th and Rachel Kerr placed 49th overall.
Cavaliers place eighth
The Scranton Prep boys cross country team finished eighth in the Cliff Robbins Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Dallas. Pat Cosgrove led Prep with a 25th place finish. AJ Sluko placed 48th, Tom Fitzpatrick came in 57th place, Tristen Shoemaker finished 68th, Tarquin McGurrin placed 69th, Kerry Lyons placed 72nd and Greg Bormes finished in 74th place.

Lady Comets drop opener
Delaware Valley downed Abington Heights, 3-0, in a Wyoming Valley Conference game on Friday, Sept. 4 in South Abington Twp. Olivia Mendo made 15 saves for the Lady Comets.

Cavaliers shut out Bucks
Scranton Prep defeated Dunmore, 21-0, in a Lackawanna League game on Friday, Sept. 4 in Dunmore. Kevin Holmes, Chris O’Brien and Tyler Stafursky scored touchdowns for Prep. Holmes also had a catch for a two-point conversion.

Crusaders topple Trail
Holy Cross defeated Lackawanna Trail, 6 1/2 – 2 1/2, in a Lackawanna League match on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in Nicholson. Matt Kwiatkowski and Andy Faist had individual wins. The team of Owen Hyde-Faist picked up a split in better-ball play.
Cavs knock off Comets
Scranton Prep downed Abington Heights, 5 1/2 – 3 1/2, in a Lackawanna League match on Wednesday, Sept. 2 in Lake Ariel. Luke Fayocavitz and Sam MacGregor won individual matches for Abington Heights. Evan Murphy, Jack Habeeb and Marco Nieto had individual wins for Prep. Prep’s Sebastian Cimoch and Abington’s Sahas Chandragiri split. In better-ball play, the teams of Murphy-Habeeb and Nieto-Cimoch had wins for Prep, and Fayocavitz-MacGregor picked up a better-ball win for the Comets.
Meteors defeat Lions
Montrose held off Lackawanna Trail, 6 1/2 – 2 1/2, in a Lackawanna League match on Thursday, Sept. 3 in Montrose. Evan Kongvold and Cody Stuenzi had individual wins for Trail. The team of John Maier-Stuenzi picked up a better-ball win.
Buckhorns down Classics
Wallenpaupack defeated Scranton Prep, 6-3, in a Lackawanna League match on Thursday, Sept. 3 in Hawley. Sebastian Cimoch and Marco Nieto had individual wins for Prep. Cimoch-Nieto also teamed for a better-ball win.

Scranton Prep defeated Scranton, 4-0, in a Lackawanna League game on Friday, Sept. 4 in Scranton. Cullen Myers scored two goals, and Corbin White and Justin Hammert each scored on. White had two assists, and Hammert and Alec Buttner each had one.

Emily Mahoney, Emily Clauss, Christman and Leia Parry each had an assist.

Lady Comets sweep Lady Hornets
Abington Heights defeated Honesdale, 5-0, in a Lackawanna League match on Wednesday, Sept. 2 in Clarks Summit. Caroline Mattise, Sondra Lionetti and Lauren Carroll won singles matches. The teams of Catherine Pusateri-Carolyn Hickman and Rachael Muir-Ajna Prahalad won in doubles action.

Lady Comets hold off Lady Raiders
Abington Heights defeated Blue Ridge, 3-2, in a Lackawanna League match on Friday, Sept. 4 in New Milford. Alessia Brunori had five aces, Mariah Tulaney contributed eight kills and Marissa Lewis added 16 assists for Abington.
Lady Lions fall to Lady Eagles
Blue Ridge defeated Lackawanna Trail, 3-1, in a Lackawanna League match on Saturday, Sept. 5. Tammi Perkins and Carolyn Mack each had 16 assists and Allison Melnikoff finished with 18 digs.
