Ace Brogna joins Keystone College’s baseball coaching staff as an assistant

LA PLUME — Former professional baseball player and King’s College manager Ace Brogna joined Keystone College’s baseball team as an assistant coach.

Brogna was a member of the Minnesota Twins organization from 1961-1963 and played for three teams in major league baseball’s farm system, before serving as the head baseball coach at King’s College from 1991-2001. During his time as the helm of the Monarchs’ program, Brogna was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year three times and led the teams to a pair of MAC Championships and a share of a third title.

Since 2002, Brogna has served as the assistant varsity baseball coach at Pittston Area High School and, since 2009, has assisted at Lackawanna College.

Brogna has been a sports official for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) since 1967 and spent 10 years as an NCAA football official.
