Tyler Stafursky threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead Scranton Prep over Western Wayne, 7-0, in a Lackawanna League crossover game on Saturday, April 30 in Scranton. Noah Granet led the Cavs with two RBI’s.

West Scranton defeated Abington Heights, 7-3, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Thursday, April 28 in Scranton. Ryan Harvey and Zach Spangenberg each drove in a run for the Comets.

Cavs shut out Wildcats

Noah Machek, Kyler McAllister, Noah Granet and Kyle Polishan had RBIs to lead Scranton Prep over Western Wayne, 4-0, in a Lackawanna League crossover game on Wednesday, April 27 in Lake Ariel. Nate Fiala struck out 10 batters in seven innings to earn the win.

Foresters top Lions

Forest City downed Lackawanna Trail, 9-1, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 game on Wednesday, April 27 in Forest City. Nathan Rolka drove in the only run for the Lions.

Invaders edge Comets

West Scranton defeated Abington Heights, 5-4, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Wednesday, April 27 in South Abington Township. Matt Hughes, Nick Carlini and Anthony Duboski each drove in a run for the Comets.

Warriors rout Cavs

Delaware Valley defeated Scranton Prep, 12-4, in a Wyoming Valley Conference crossover match on Friday, April 29 in Milford. Dan Hinton led the Cavaliers with two goals.

Classics down Lady Warriors

Cara Kopicki scored five goals to help Scranton Prep defeat Wyoming Area, 16-9, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 match on Monday, May 2 in Exeter.

Lake-Lehman topped Scranton Prep, 10-5, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 match on Saturday, April 30 in Lehman Township. Christine Kaffka led the Classics with three goals.

Delaware Valley defeated Scranton Prep, 12-11, in a Wyoming Valley Conference crossover match on Thursday, April 28. Christine Kaffka led Prep with five goals and Cara Kopicki scored two.

Maddie Brown, Paige Harris and Dominique Emmett each drove in three runs to help Abington Heights defeat Western Wayne, 16-0, in a Lackawanna League crossover game on Monday, May 2 in South Abington Township. Harris allowed just one hit over four innings to earn to win.

Scranton Prep pitcher Ilissa Hamilton struck out 15 batters to lead Scranton Prep over Honesdale, 2-0, in a Lackawanna League crossover game on Monday, May 2 in Scranton. Hamilton and Isabella Gorzkowski drove in the Prep runs.

Madison Lee and Samantha Baltrusaitis each drove in four runs to lead Lackawanna Trail over Forest City, 21-2, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 game on Wednesday, April 27 in Forest City. Mackenzie Duffy added three RBIs for Trail. Allison Decker allowed six hits over five innings and picked up the win.

Cody Moyle (110, 300 hurdles), Jared Klepadlo (1600), Matt Kinback (800 hurdles), Bobby Titus (3200), Josiah Frank (shot put), Greg Ellsworth (discus), Cody Stuenzi (javelin, long jump, triple jump) and Matt Bergey (high jump) placed first for the Lions. Trail’s 400 (Maier, Moyle, Bergey, Berrios) and 3200 (Klepadlo, Vierling, Titus, Kinback) relay teams also finished first.

Tristen Shoemaker (400), Dean Sweeney (300 hurdles), Austin Bolus (800), Kevin Holmes (200), A.J. Sluko (3200) and Gary Wrobleski (discus) placed first for the Cavs. Prep’s 400 (Stage, Holmes, Ryan, Horvath), 1600 (Durr, DeCarli, Doherty, Shoemaker) and 3200 (DeCarli, Bolus, Doherty, Shoemaker) relay teams also placed first for Prep.

Abington Heights defeated Honesdale, 89-61, in a Lackawanna League crossover meet on Monday, May 2 in South Abington Twp. Baba Osuntokun (100), Dan Uhranowsky (800, 1600), Jovan Mitchell (200), Jack Malone (3200), Matt Coggins (shot put, discus), Bailey Harris (long jump, triple jump) and Colin Florey (pole vault) were first place finishers for the Comets. Abington Heights’ 3200 relay team (DeSeta, Malone, Levinson, Fallk) also placed first.

Abington Heights defeated West Scranton, 90 1/2 – 58 1/2, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 meet on Thursday, April 28 in Scranton. Quentin Nikl (110, 3o0 hurdles), Dan Uhranowsky (1600, 3200), Christian Schmilfenig (400), Kyle Burke (800), Bailey Harris (long and triple jumps) and Colin Florey (pole vault) placed first for the Comets. Abington Heights’ 1600 (Burke, Green, Mitchell, Schmilfenig) and 3200 (Fontanarosa, Malone, Phillips, Burke) relay teams also placed first.

Meteors knock off Lions

Montrose defeated Lackawanna Trail, 97-52, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 meet on Wednesday, April 27 in Factoryville. Cody Moyle (110 hurdles), Anthony Berrios (100), Matt Bergey (400) and Cody Stuenzi (triple jump) placed first for the Lions. Trail’s 3200 relay team (Stuenzi, Vierling, Titus, Klepadlo) also finished first.

Abington Heights defeated Scranton Prep, 74-67, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 meet on Tuesday, April 26 in Scranton. Quentin Nikl (110 hurdles), Dan Uhranowsky (800, 1600), Greg Borgia (300 hurdles), Jack Malone (3200), Bailey Harris (long jump, triple jump), Donavan Superville (high jump) and Colin Florey (pole vault) were first place finishers for the Comets. David Horvath (100), Tristen Shoemaker (400), Kevin Holmes (200), Max Borgia (shot put) and Gary Wrobleski (discus) placed first for Prep. Scranton Prep defeated West Scranton, 95-40, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 meet on Monday, May 2 in Scranton. Kate McGrath (100 hurdles, long jump, triple jump), Kate Reilly (800, 1600), Alex Weston (400), Christina Thomas (shot put), A.J. Hendershot (discus), Madison Ziobro (high jump) and Lexi Manzo (pole vault) finished first for the Classics. Prep’s 400 (Thomas, Ducas, Penetar, Caucci), 1600 (Weston, Welby, Kerr, Reilly) and 3200 (Lapinksi, Zehner, Kerr, Welby) relay team also placed first.

Abington Heights downed Western Wayne, 3-1, in a Lackawanna League match on Monday, May 2 in Lake Ariel. Sean Salmon had 29 assists and Rob McGarry contributed 13 kills and six blocks to lead the Comets.

Comets sweep Warriors

Abington Heights defeated Elk Lake, 3-0, in a Lackawanna League match on Tuesday, April 26 in Dimock. Rhys Yarns had 15 digs and Rob McGarry added six kills to lead the Comets.
