The Abington Heights girls track and field team placed first in the Class 3A standings at the 11th Robert Spagna Championships on Tuesday, May 10 at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

Katie Dammer placed first in the 800 and 1600 meter runs. Danielle Heine placed second in the pole vault. Allyson Derry finished sixth in the long jump, third in the triple jump and second in the 100 meter dash. Hannah White placed seventh in the javelin throw. Calista Marzolino was third in the high jump. Carly Danoski finished third in the 1600 meter run and second in the 800 meter run. Dani Beamish was seventh in the 400 meter dash. Alex Scheuermann placed third in the 3200 meter run, and Claire Traweek was fifth in the 3200.

The Lady Comets 4×800 relay team of Bianca Calvo, Ellie Wright, Carly Danoski and Katie Dammer placed fourth. Abington Heights finished also finished first in the 4×100 meter relay and eighth in the 4×400 meter relay.

Prep girls results

Scranton Prep’s girls team finished fifth in the Class 3A standings.

Kaitlin McGrath placed fourth in the long jump, first in the triple jump and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles. Abby Schroth finished seventh in the discus throw. AJ Hendershot was third in the javelin throw. Madison Ziobro placed eighth in the high jump. Kristina Thomas finished eighth in the shot put. Kate Reilly was sixth in the 1600 meter run, and Erin Feeney placed first in the 3200 meter run.

The Classics team of Rachel Kerr, Katie Lapinski, Allison Walsh and Kate Welby placed eighth in the 4×800 meter relay.

Trail girls results

Lackawanna Trail’s girls team placed ninth in the Class 2A standings.

Jordan Laytos finished sixth in the javelin throw.

AH boys results

The Abington Heights boys team finished sixth in the Class 3A standings.

Colin Florey placed third and Julian Medina was seventh in the pole vault. Bailey Harris finished fifth in the long jump and third in the triple jump. Tyler Newman was eighth was in the javelin throw. Dan Uhranowsky placed fourth and Kyle Burke finished fifth in the 1600 meter run. Chris Schimelfenig was seventh in the 400 meter dash. Kyle Burke was fifth in the 800 meter run and Dan Uhranowsky placed sixth.

Abington Heights’ 4×800 meter relay team of Evan Phillips, Jack Malone, Kyle Burke and Dan Uhranowski placed sixth. The Comets 4×400 relay team of Chris Schimelfenig, Rheyse Green, Evan Phillips and Jovan Mitchell finished eighth.

Prep boys results

Scranton Prep’s boys team finished seventh in the Class 3A standings.

Gary Wrobleski placed third in the discus throw. Lucas Stage was seventh in the javelin throw. Ryan Powell finished eighth in the triple jump. Ian Baker was fifth in the shot put. David Horvath placed first in the 100 meter dash. Tommy Doherty finished sixth in the 400 meter dash. Tristen Shoemaker was fourth in the 800 meter run, and AJ Sluko placed fifth in the 3200 meter run.

Trail boys results

Lackawanna Trail’s boys team placed seventh in the Class 2A standings.

Matt Kinback placed third in the high jump, sixth in the 1600 meter run and eighth in the 800 meter run.

The Lions’ 4×100 relay team of John Maier, Dakota Moyle, Matt Bergey and Anthony Berrios placed eighth.
