CLARKS SUMMIT — Tim Aikman and Abington Heights graduate Cierra Beck recently took the A Division title in the Scranton Tennis Club Mixed Doubles Championship July 29-31.
The second-seeded team of Aikman and Beck upended the top-seeded duo of Zac Lehman and Abington Heights graduate Catherine Pusateri, 6-3, 6-3.
In the B Division, Kiran Kumar and Kelly Lenahan were triumphant with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Donnie Bockelkamp and Anita Shrive.
In semifinal action, Aikman and Beck survived a challenge from Phil Mercurio and Patti Ostroski, edging them 4-6, 6-4, (13-11), while Lehman and Pusateri downed Doug Klamp and Scranton Prep tennis head coach Kathleen McKenna, 6-4, 6-2.
Kumar and Lenahan had a relatively easy time in eliminating Joe Lubas and Lauren Calvey, 6-1, 6-1, while Bockelkamp and Shrive topped Jim Halbert and Nancy Karam, 6-4, 4-6, (10-7).
Halbert and Karam won the Consolation B Championship by defeating Frank and Holly Packer, 6-2, 6-3. The A Division Consolation match between the team of Josh and Kelly Arp and the team of Jimmy and Isabella Peters was postponed to a later date.
McKenna was the tournament director, assisted by Susanne Spinelli and Aikman.
