Classics claim title

Scranton Prep won the girls Irving Jackman Memorial Tournament on Tuesday, Aug. 23 in Mount Cobb with a score of 351. Reilly Ruane and Lauren Golden led Prep by shooting 84s, which put them in a tie for second in the individual standings. Alex Fitzsimmons carded an 86 and Gabby Hanstein finished with a 97.

Warriors edge Lions

Elk Lake defeated Lackawanna Trail, 5-4, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match on Tuesday, Aug. 23 in Friendsville. Andy Faist and Jacob Westcott earned individual wins and John Maier earned a split. The team of Westcott- Nathan Van Fleet had a better-ball win and Faist-DeBree earned a split.

Cavs rout Bucks

Sebastian Cimoch, Dan Hinton, Tyler Marchese, Frank Adamo, Jack Habeeb and Colin Ennis each had individual wins to help Scranton Prep defeat Dunmore, 9-0, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match on Wednesday, Aug. 24 in Mt. Cobb. Marchese-Adamo, Cimoch-Hinton and Habeeb-Ennis had better-ball wins.

Lions too much for Foresters

John Maier, Owen Hyde, Thomas Vokes, Andy Faist and Mark DeBree had individual wins to lead Lackawanna Trail over Forest City, 7-2, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match on Wednesday, Aug. 24 in Nicholson. Hyde-Vokes and Faist-DeBree had better-ball wins.

Comets clobber Warriors

Dan Munley, Pat McGrail, Conor Newman, Daniel Flickinger and Luke Fayocavitz had individual wins to help Abington Heights defeat Delaware Valley, 8 1/2 – 1/2, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 match on Wednesday, Aug. 24 in Lords Valley. Brown-Munley, McGrail-Newman and Flickinger-Fayocavitz had better-ball wins.

Classics sweep Lady Trojans

Luke Fayocavitz, Troy Kelleher and Nick Sebastianelli had individual wins to help Abington Heights defeat Wallenpaupack, 5-4, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 match on Friday, Aug. 26 in Clarks Summit. Connor Kelleher earned a split in his match. Troy and Connor Kelleher team to win a better-ball match and Fayocavitz-Brown earned a split.

Collin Ennis, Joshua Villarosa, Evan Murphy, Eric O’Dell, John Redman and M.J. Stivala each had an individual win during Scranton Prep’s 9-0 victory over Forest City in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match on Friday, Aug. 26 in Mount Pleasant. Ennis-Villarosa, Murphy-O’Dell and Redman-Stivala teamed to earn doubles wins.

Abington Heights downed North Pocono, 6 1/2 – 2 1/2, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 match on Monday, Aug. 29 in Mount Cobb. Troy Kelleher, Nick Sebastianelli, Will Brown and Luke Fayocavitz had individual wins for the Comets. The teams of Troy and Connor Kelleher, and Brown-Fayocavitz had better-ball wins. McGrail-Sebastianelli earned a split.

Scranton Prep defeated Western Wayne, 5-0, in a Lackawanna League match on Tuesday, Aug. 23 in Lake Ariel. Gabriela Jakubek, Annabelle Conway and Gabrielle Serratore had singles wins for the Classics. The teams of Gaba Horchos-Amelia Desiderio and Stephanie Carolan-Rachel Maculloch won in doubles play.

Lady Comets blank Lady Warriors

Lauren Carroll, Catherine Pusateri and Clare DellaValle had singles wins to held Abington Heights down Delaware Valley, 5-0, in a Lackawanna League match on Thursday, Aug. 25 in Milford. The teams of Lauren Koczwara-Savannah Blaum and Brooke Dennison-Macy Marturano picked up doubles wins.

Gabriela Jakubek had a singles win to help Scranton Prep defeat Holy Cross, 3-2, in a Lackawanna League match on Monday, Aug. 29 in Scranton. The teams of Amelia Desiderio-Gaba Horchos and Rachel Maculloch-Isabel Hou won in doubles competition.
