Abington Youth Soccer League registration, currently underway for the fall season until Sept. 11. Boys and girls born on or between 8/1/97 and 7/31/12 are eligible to play. Players born 8/1/97 to 7/31/98 must still be in high school this fall to register. There is no residency requirement. Online registration at abingtonyouthsoccer.org requires payment by credit card or e-check. Paper registration is available by printing up a form online and mailing it. Abington Gators Youth Swim registration, ongoing, practices begin Oct. 3. Fee: $235 ($100 deposit due at registration). There is a $25 discount for each successive child within the same family and the fee includes a team suit, cap and T-shirt. The Abington Gators is a competitive swim league for kids ages 6-14, a member of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Age Group Swim League. A Parent Information Night and Suit Fitting will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Abington Heights High School cafeteria. Register: www.abingtongators.com.

Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club Sporting Clays course, open Wednesdays 9 a.m. to dusk through September. Member cost: $25 for 100 birds and $13 for 50 birds. GCMC’s 35th Annual Dr. Jack Sanner Memorial Golf Classic, Sept. 12 at the Country Club of Scranton, South Abington Township. Proceeds benefit Geisinger’s renovation of the Children’s Advocacy Center and the Teen Advocacy Center. Grip It-N-Rip it Fore Riggs Golf Tournament, 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Scott Greens Golf Club, 455 Green Grove Road, Scott Township. Captain and mate, nine-hole format. The winner will receive a gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods and a putter. Cost: $40 per golfer and $50 per sponsor. Food and beverages will be provided. Knights of Columbus St. Ann’s Basilica Council 12572 Golf Tournament, check-in 11 a.m., tee time 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at Pine Hills Country Club, 140 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor. Captain and crew format. Cost: $340 per foursome. The registration fee includes green fees, car, dinner, a gift and prizes. There will be closest to the pin, longest drive, circle of gold and chipping contests.
