University of Scranton junior Terrence McGurrin named tennis athlete of the week

SCRANTON — Junior Terrence McGurrin, of Clarks Summit, was dominant in both doubles and singles play at Marywood on Sept. 30, leading The University of Scranton to a 9-0 win.

For his efforts, the Scranton Prep graduate was named the Landmark Conference’s Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 25, marking the first time in his career that he’s earned the award.

In the Marywood match, McGurrin and partner sophomore Alexander Ochalski rolled to an 8-0 victory in the number one spot in doubles, then McGurrin won his singles match at number two in the lineup, 6-0, 6-0.
