The Abington Youth Soccer League (AYSL) is currently holding online registration for the fall youth soccer season. Boys and girls born on or between Aug. 1, 1999 and July 31, 2013 are eligible to play. Players born Aug. 1, 1998 to July 31, 1999 must still be in high school this fall to register.
There is no residency requirement.
Registration is available online at abingtonyouthsoccer.org. Online registration requires payment by credit card or e-check. Paper registration is available by printing a form online and mailing it to Jim Hatton, 1616 Davinci Lane, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
Checks should be made payable to AYS. The registration cost is $55 per player. For families with more than three players, the fee is waived after three players.
AYSL jerseys, shin guards, socks and soccer balls will be available for purchase at the Stroney Field shed in August. Check the website for available store hours.
The AYSL is a recreation soccer league with the focus being on the fun of playing the game, exercise and making friends.
All players are guaranteed to play at least half of each game with games on Saturdays plus some weekday games later in the season. Last year, more than 900 players participated.
A lot of parental involvement is needed to get the teams organized and keep things fun. Coaches are also needed.
