The University of Scranton to host men’s and women’s basketball tournaments

The Hilton Scranton and Conference Center will sponsor tournaments for The University of Scranton’s men’s and women’s basketball teams in November and December, respectively.

The Hilton Scranton Invitational men’s basketball tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18, in the John Long Center. University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and York College will play at 5:30 p.m. and the Royals will play Penn State Berks at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17. The tournament will continue Nov. 18 with the third-place game at 2 p.m. and the championship game at 4 p.m.

The Hilton Scranton Poinsettia Classic women’s basketball tournament will begin Friday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. with Messiah College playing Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham, in the John Long Center, followed by the Lady Royals versus Hartwick College at 8 p.m. The tournament will continue with the third-place game at 2 p.m. and the championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.

Senior guard Ethan Danzig, an Abington Heights graduate, is a member of the men’s team.
