Trojans clip Cavs

North Pocono defeated Scranton Prep, 3-1, in the quarterfinals of the District 2 Class 3A playoffs Tuesday, May 24 in Covington Township. Robert Pfleckl led the Cavaliers with two hits and Jake Grady drove in Prep’s only run.


Warriors knock off Cavaliers

Delaware Valley topped Scranton Prep, 4-3, in the District 2 boys title game Thursday, May 26 in Milford. Anthony Osticco scored all three goals for the Cavs.


Lady Lions edge Lady Raiders

Samantha Baltrusaitis drove in two runs to help Lackawanna Trail defeat Blue Ridge, 3-1, in the semifinals of the District 2 Class A playoffs Thursday, May 26 in Factoryville. Allison Decker allowed three hits over seven innings and picked up the win.


Prep duo claims silver

Scranton Prep’s team of Peter Kazmierczak and Tony Kutz claimed silver medals at the PIAA Class 2A Boys Doubles Championship on Saturday, May 28 in Hershey. The seniors won their first three matches in the tournament before falling to the team of Don Gex-Ryan Gex in the title match.

Comets senior falls at states

Abington Heights’ Sahas Chandragiri lost his opening match, 6-3, 6-3, to Fox Chapel’s Sidd Rajupet in the PIAA Class 3A Boys Singles Championship on Friday, May 27 in Hershey.
