Abington Heights High School English teacher Marilyn Pryle has been selected to speak at the 2012 annual National Council of Teachers of English Convention in Nevada Nov.16.

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) announces that Pryle, a teacher at the South Abington Township school, will present during the Panel, Standards and Writing Workshop approaches for English Language Learners. An excerpt from the description of this session in the Convention Program states:

How do we enrich academic content and language/writing instruction for English language learners? The presenters will share writing workshop approaches and new content standards initiatives for the achievement of English language learners.

The session will be held from 4 to 5:15 p.m.

Each year, the NCTE Annual Convention draws thousands of K-12 teachers, college faculty, administrators and other educational professionals from around the world. They gather to hear award-winning speakers, attend idea-packed sessions, share best practices, participate in workshops and test the latest teaching materials.

The 2012 Annual Convention will be held Nov.15-18, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
