Abington Heights announces changes to SAT and ACT
Last Modified: February 17. 2013 12:28AM
Students must pay particular attention to the identification requirements on test day. Students who are registered to take the October 6 SAT or the October 27 ACT should be aware that students must present their Admission Ticket without exception. Even if the student is known to testing staff, they cannot be admitted without the Admission Ticket. Also, students must present valid photo identification. Again, even if the student is known to staff, without valid identification they cannot be admitted. Examples of an approved identification are government-issued driver's license or non-driver ID card, official school-produced student-identification card, or a current Passport. If a student does not have valid ID, they must obtain an identification form from their guidance office.
For students who do not meet late registration deadlines, Standby Testing is no longer available. These students will need to register on the College Board website and request Waitlist Status. They will need to print their Admission Ticket and present on test day. Additionally, no Center Changes or Test Changes permitted on test day. For example, a student registered to test at Scranton High School cannot arrive to Abington Heights High School and request a Center Change.
Beginning in March, 2013 students will be required to upload a photo when they register for the SAT and ACT. Students should check the College Board and ACT sites for examples of acceptable photos. The uploaded photo will be present on our SAT roster, which will be checked against the studentā??s ID and Admission Ticket before they will be allowed to test.
Schools that have been approved to administer the SAT or ACT exams must comply strictly with the rules and regulations set forth by these organizations. They cannot make exceptions for any reason, so please are certain students arriving on test day prepared with the required documentation. Students should arrive well rested with several #2 pencils, a calculator, a snack, and a positive attitude.
