Randy Hanyon, of Clarks Summit, was hired on Wednesday, Sept. 5 as the new athletic director at Abington Heights High School.

Hanyon had previously served for 12 years as a school teacher in the Pocono Mountain and Philadelphia School Districts. He has also served as a substitute at Abington Heights and several other local schools including Pittston Area, Valley View, and Old Forge.

In addition, he was a baseball coach at Pittston Area and volunteer baseball coach at Abington Heights.
