Abington Heights High School Interact Club members Tara Hambrose and Meredith Westington lugged waste out of a home in the Rockaways, New York on November 25 during a recent Rotary service trip.

The wrecker in the background, which was from Dallas, Texas, was in the neighborhood removing cars that had been flooded by the Hurricane Sandy storm surge.

Few businesses in this community have reopened since the storm which means food is in short supply there. Local officials expect that many Rockaway businesses will not reopen.
