The Marley‚??s Mission Board of Directors announces that the Backyard Ale House Hope Chest Auction held recently was a success for the organization.
‚??The evening was truly a tremendous success and we are definitely hoping to build on the event for next year,‚?Ě Gene Talerico, president of Marley‚??s Mission. ‚??Our auction co-chairs Kara Seitzinger and Donna Nasser and all of our volunteers did an outstanding job.‚?Ě
More than 100 attended the event at Backyard Ale House, during which Marley‚??s Mission auctioned off six wooden hope chests, all handpainted and finished by local artists. Five of the hope chests were provided with assistance from Woods & Co of Clarks Summit. The sixth hope chest was handcrafted, painted and sponsored by Al and Linda Day of Equinunk.
The artists who donated their talent and time, and their respective hope chest sponsors, included: artist Trinka Ravaioli, chest sponsored by 2013 Blue Ribbon Gala co-chairs Gretchen Wintermantel & Kathleen Bolling Bell and Zoe, Charlotte and Lilly Haggerty; artist Rachael Boles, chest sponsored by the Seitzinger Family and the Talerico Family; artist Karina Singer, chest sponsored by Woods & Co.; artist Kathy Barrett, chest sponsored by Ms. Barrett and JMJ Designs; and artist Bridget Feeney, chest sponsored by Backyard Ale House.
Ken Rivenburg of Rivenburgs Auction in Factoryville got the crowd rolling with a live auction of the six hope chests.
An array of hors d‚??ouevres was donated by Mendicino‚??s Restaurant in Moscow, Russell‚??s Restaurant in Dunmore, and Constantino‚??s Catering in Dunmore.
The Blue Ribbon Gala, which is the organization‚??s major fundraiser, is set for Feb. 16, 2013 at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Center, 100 Adams Ave. in Scranton, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information on the Third Annual Blue Ribbon Gala, please visit www.marleysmission.com/blue-ribbon-gala-2013/.
