Camera for a Cure plans busy month

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and Camera For A Cure will start it off with three activities, Nov. 1 through 3.

Nov. 1 brings a Lung Cancer Alliance Scranton Chapter fundraiser at Anna Maria's, 984 E. Drinker St. Dunmore. It will be held from 6 - 9 and will feature celebrity bartenders from local businesses, along with live music by The Rathskeller and The Poets, chair massages and basket raffles. Timmy Walsh, Camera For A Cure, will be the event photographer.

Bella Faccias, 516 Lackawanna Ave., will be the host for Camera For A Cure during the November First Friday, Nov. 2. CFAC will feature photography and will include original painting by Timmy Walsh along with additional artwork. CFAC will be at Bella Faccias from 6 - 9 p.m. Bellas Faccias will feature white ribbon specialty chocolates during the month of November with a portions of all sales being donated to the Lung Cancer Alliance. CFAC will have a basket raffle, no purchase necessary.

Hopscotch Children's Boutique, 201 Church Street Jessup, will host CFAC Nov. 3 from 2 - 4 p.m. Walsh will soon be wearing the latest in boys fashion, provided by Hopscotch Children's Boutique. CFAC will have a basket raffle, no purchase necessary. Lung Cancer Awareness candies will be available. Select CFAC photos will be shown at Hopscotch Children's Boutique throughout the month of November.

Camera For A Cure is now scheduling events. To have a CFAC event at any business, contact CFAC at 570.604.4355.

Camera For A Cure is a non profit fundraiser started by Timmy Walsh, then 6 yrs old. Walsh takes photographs and sells them with all proceeds going to the Lung Cancer Alliance. Now, at the age of 10, he continues to raise funds for cancer research along with other diseases and causes. He is an Olyphant resident and a student at Wyoming Seminary Lower School.

Lung Cancer Alliance is the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to providing support and advocacy for people living with or at risk for the disease. Based in Washington DC, a Pennsylvania chapter recently opened in Scranton, PA. More information on the LCA can be found at www.lungcanceralliance.org.
