Ethics Institute of NEPA at Misericordia University to honor Michael Hanley and Monsignor Kelly
Last Modified: February 19. 2013 1:38PM
Hanley began his career at United Neighborhood Centers in 1988 and has served as its executive director since 1995. During his tenure, the organization has more than tripled in size, primarily through the expansion of its crisis programs, and housing and community services. He also serves the community in many other ways, including as a board member of the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania, the Lackawanna River Corridor Association, and the Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education.
Monsignor Kelly has been a Roman Catholic priest in the Diocese of Scranton for 46 years. He currently serves as the diocesan secretary for Catholic human services, and as executive director of Catholic Social Services, St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen, and Camp St. Andrew in Tunkhannock, Pa., and as the Episcopal Vicar for Hispanic Ministry. Monsignor Kelly also has served as a pastor or assistant pastor in many parishes throughout the Diocese.
Tickets for the dinner are $40 per person and can be purchased by calling 570.674.1483. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner following at 6:15 p.m. The money raised from the dinner helps to support programming by the Ethics Institute.
