October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Delaware Valley Warrior Football team did their part to raise awareness by asking their Booster Club to purchase pink athletic tape for the players so they could show their support during their football games both home and away.
The idea grew, and some members from the student council helped collect donations, sell bracelets and give out information during home games. Students were able to collect $400 and proudly presented a check to Dolly Woody, Executive Director for the NEPA Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure on November 16.
“We are couldn’t be more proud of our team for wanting to help out this cause. This is a very special group of guys I am glad they came to us with this idea” said Tammy Savarese, President of the Friends of Warrior Football Booster Club.
