New Story is accepting applications for the 2013 New Story Fund through Jan. 31, at www.NewStory.com. It distributes $50,000 annually in the form of awards to families in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Families can be nominated for an award of up to $1,500 each year.
The New Story Fund is designed to help children and families who are faced with the following challenges: autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emotional support needs, mental retardation or other developmental disabilities. The New Story Fund helps families that do not have the funds to access products and services needed to best support their children.
Members of the community are encouraged to submit an application for themselves, or to nominate an individual or family in need. Nominees must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the New Story Fund: Nominee must be a legal resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; The nominee must be between the ages of birth and 21; Nominee must be faced with one (or more) or the following challenges: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), emotional support needs, mental retardation or other developmental disability.
Nominators or nominees do not need to be enrolled in New Story schools or New Story services. Applicants may not be employees or affiliates of New Story.
