PennDOT has announced that the Main Avenue /I-81 on-ramp will be open for the Christmas shopping season.

The ramp from Main Ave, Dickson City to I-81 South has been closed since August 21 while bridge repairs were done on the I-81 bridge over the Susquehanna River. Because a portion of the on-ramp goes onto the I-81 bridge, it has been necessary to close this ramp.

However, from now until January 4, the contractor has agreed to conduct all work on the south end of the bridge, allowing the ramp to be open for a period of two months.

PennDOT believes this adjustment will be a great benefit to the businesses and customers in this area.
