The Northeastern Pennsylvania Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure relocated its offices to the Connell Building at 125 North Washington Avenue, Suite 260, in Downtown Scranton.
The organization has served 16 counties throughout Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania out of its office in Scranton for the past 22 years.
Since its inception in 1991, the Komen NEPA Affiliate has awarded more than two and a half million dollars in local community grants for breast health education, early detection screening, research and treatment programs, providing much needed breast health and breast care services for medically underserved and uninsured women and men throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
“75% of all funds donated to Komen NEPA stay right here in the 16 counties we serve,” said Dolly Woody, executive director. “These monies are used only for funding vital breast health education, and breast cancer screening, treatment and support services. The remaining 25% funds Susan G. Komen for the Cure National Research Grant Program.”
