February 17. 2013 2:07AM
The event‚??s efforts will focus on cleaning up and beautifying the trailhead area, which the public, students and service organization members are invited to volunteer for. LHV will provide free gloves, garbage bags, tools, and water for all volunteers.
The Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area works with community partners on projects that conserve, preserve, and educate public about historic, cultural, economic, and natural resources in the area. For general information about the heritage area, visit www.LHVA.org.
LHV applauds the National Public Lands Day, the nation‚??s largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands in the US, whose mission is to preserve and protect America‚??s natural heritage by participating in this annual day.
The 7th Avenue Trailhead is located four blocks from the intersection of 7th Avenue and Lackawanna Avenue in Scranton and is adjacent to LHV‚??s new headquarters at 213 South 7th Avenue.
