Tunkhannock--The community is invited to share in the celebration of 50 years of service with the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau as it hosts an Open House to commemorate this business milestone.
The bureau’s Open House will take place Thursday, Dec. 6 through 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments of cookies and hot chocolate will be served and tours of the office, which opened in May, can be taken.
The main visitors lobby is decorated for the holidays and includes a Christmas tree donated by visitors bureau member, Roba Family Farm in Dalton. The tree is adorned with pine cones and photos of the Endless Mountains, bringing to life a pictorial of what makes the Endless Mountains a great place to live and/or visit.
Everyone who stops by during the open house will be entered into a drawing for a basket filled with Endless Mountains goodies. All items in the basket are from local businesses who are members of the visitors bureau. There will also be a special raffle for a children’s gift basket.
Young visitors to the open house will also get a special surprise to take home with them.
In October 2011, the bureau successfully bid at an auction on a house that was to become its new, permanent location. After four months of transforming this residence into a new visitors center and office, the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau opened the doors of its new “home” to the public for the first time on May 11.
The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau serves as the officially designated tourism promotion agency for Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties and works to market and promote the Endless Mountains Region as a tourist destination.
The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau is located at 5405 State Route 6, just west of downtown Tunkhannock at the top of Mile Hill. For more information, contact the bureau at 570.836.5431 or 800.769.8999.
