The Wyoming Seminary Chorale and Madrigal Singers will present a concert of seasonal music on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. in the Great Hall, 228 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston.
The concert is free and open to the public. The select Madrigal Singers will perform The Magnificat by Estonian classical composer Arvo P√§rt as well as a selection of 16th and 17th century songs and madrigals. The Chorale also will present another setting of the song of the Blessed Virgin Mary, The Magnificat in C Major by Franz Schubert, in addition to seasonal music and a Muskogee Indian song, ‚??Heleluyan.‚?Ě The String Ensemble will perform the Concerto Grosso in D Major by Corelli.
John M. Vaida, chair of Wyoming Seminary‚??s Fine and Performing Arts Department, will direct the Madrigal Singers and Chorale while artist-in-residence Christiane Appenheimer-Vaida will conduct the String Ensemble.
